With more than 20-years of experience in finance, I have consistently achieved objectives and exceeded expectations. I thrive working in a role characterized by actionable analytics, the need for business creativity, and far-reaching responsibility.
I have been fortunate in that my career began with tremendous mentorship. My early mentors helped me to see the impact of soft skills in business. When I worked in the public sector as Community Options Program Director for Dane County Mental Health, David LeCount demonstrated effective leadership and sincere compassion for those stricken with a mental disease. As I began my career in finance working for Primerica Financial Services, Ronald Barnes impressed me with his genuine loyalty, generosity, and passion for helping others in need. From them, I learned the finer building blocks of connecting with people and the importance of making a positive contribution to the lives of others.
As a 20-year experienced professional in management and finance, I bring the following to the table.
Adaptability and public speaking: After the crash of 2007, I began traveling Wisconsin engaging in public speaking forums on topics relating to the evolution of lending, negotiating short-sales and foreclosures, onboarding Dodd-Frank/TRID. I keep it positive regardless of the economic state.
Dynamic communication style: I have an open-door policy to drive social influence. In doing so, productive conversations take place that promote business health. I successfully mediate disputes and motivate employees toward personal development. I strive to establish trust, cooperation, and a shared sense of purpose and responsibility.
Effective leadership skills: Few people encounter life-threatening instances where their leadership skills are tested. In my lifetime:
o I pulled a female from a car where her boyfriend was beating her. Others stood around watching until I acted. Only then did others rally in support to protect her.
o While at a public restaurant, I performed the Heimlich maneuver on a choking young male, where his parents stood screaming in a panic.
o A fellow college student was having a grand mal seizure. I directed one student to call 911, others to exterior building entry doors to lead paramedics to the class, and another to empty and sort backpack items, specifically looking for medications and drugs, while I attended to his medical needs.
o When on a family vacation, a homeless man was down on the sidewalk having a seizure. To my amazement, others just walked by. I directed my 9-year-old daughter toward a store where she asked them to call 911, then came back to confirm the ambulance was on the way.
These instances alone do not make someone a great leader, and the skills I noted may not make me unique. But combined, my experiences and skills do represent my high level of emotional intelligence, confidence, forethought, being action-oriented, and a leader that can solve problematic situations requiring detail while under extreme pressure. My leadership style is decisive and positively contagious.
