As Roman Historian, Livy once said:
"The study of history is the best medicine for a sick mind; for in history you have a record of the infinite variety of human experience plainly set out for all to see: and in that record you can find for yourself and your country both examples and warnings: fine things to take as models, base things, rotten through and through, to avoid."
Together we can use tools and lessons from the past, to better our future and human nature as well and once again reach beyond politics and find common ground like we did before the 1960s and the errors in judgment that helped create the divisiveness we see now in America. If one thing is true about great civilizations, xenophobia and radical politics has always been a plague to society.
If the minds of social science combined our talents, a new, inclusive and compassionate society could take shape, one without xenophobia and racism.
Aside from History (mostly Classical Antiquity, U.S Military History and African History) I love Philosophy and Foreign Policy. I also enjoy reading religion, particularly about Classical Paganism, Zoroastrianism, and Early Christianity, which had a large following in Africa and who's people are recognized as some of the 1st christians, which contributed to the formation of the Axumite Kingdom and Manichaeism as well as other axial religions, Judaism, Confucianism, Taoism, Jainism, Buddhism, and Islam. I'm a huge fan of all literature throughout history from the many different cultures. Last but not least of my interests include sociology and psychology.
