Daniel Cosby

Hailing from a similar namesake, Oglethorpe County, I have grown up in a rather small and familiar environment. I knew most of my classmates and all of my teachers. Although I had opportunities through my school to participate in clubs such as Beta Club, NHS and Marching Band, my school-sponsored extracurricular choices were very limited, leaving me eager for additional experiences. This sense of desire lead me to the Boy Scouts of America, where I not only went on camping and high adventure trips, but also practiced service and leadership skills before achieving the rank of Eagle Scout on January 21, 2016. In addition to Scouts, I have found a strong sense of community in my church, where I learned how to live for God while also having fun and serving my community. In school, I challenged myself academically, taking honors classes, accelerated study courses, dual enrollment course, and AP courses before graduating as the Valedictorian of my class. My academic passions lie in human anatomy/biology as well as Latin, Roman History and Roman Culture. I plan to study these subjects in college before deciding whether to pursue a career as a surgeon or a professor. I like to keep myself busy so that I am always doing something to improve myself, but on the rare occasions that I do have free time I watch Youtube comedy, the occasional anime or drama, play video games and listen to music. For more on that, here are some of my favorites: Favorite Youtubers: Collegehumor, SNL, Smosh, Idubbbz, Stephen Colbert Favorite Video games: Any open world exploration games/shooter games. Favorite Anime: Steins; Gate. Others would include The Seven Deadly Sins, Romeo x Juliet, Chaos; Head and Chaos; Child Favorite Music: I'm a musician by nature, so I'll listen to anything with a good melody, but some recurring favorites are Maroon 5, Imagine Dragons, Linkin Park, Fallout Boy, Panic At the Disco, My Chemical Romance, Pierce the Veil, All Time Low, Paramore, and the Script. It is worth noting though that my guilty pleasure includes white-girl pop such as Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, and Taylor Swift among others. That's about all for me. I often seem quiet and reserved but I promise I am really friendly and quite eager to meet new people, so dont hesitate to say hi.
