Daniel Mecca

Currently I am a first year medical student. I have been a life-long resident of Northeastern Pennsylvania. I believe that medicine should be delivered with a patient-centered and team-based approach. Prior to my undergraduate degrees in biology and biochemistry I received a degree in vascular ultrasound technology. My education has engendered me with a passion for vascular surgery. Through my years of education two poems, " A Dream Deferred" by Langston Hughes and " The Road Not Taken" by Robert Frost have resonated with me. Dreams are not easily forgotten, but they can be given up on, leaving one with the question of " what if." Often the path to our dream may not be as clear as we had envisioned, but relentless pursuit of a dream down a path less traveled can lead to its attainment. When looking back one often realizes that the path less traveled can make all the difference because of the experience gained along the way.
