Elizabeth Bonnett

Fourth year social work, music, and pre-law student at the University of Iowa. I currently serve as the VP of Finance for Alpha Phi Omega and the Communications Director for Under Your Wing. As an individual dedicated to public service, I strive to attend a dual JD/MSW program. Through serving as an AmeriCorps Volunteer, working at a shelter for homelessness, counseling at-risk youth, serving the untouchable caste in India, and working as an intern in the Linn County Drug Treatment Court, I possess a wide array of skills and experiences in social work. Throughout my undergraduate career, I have taken advantage of the numerous opportunities that the School of Social Work and the School of Music offers. In my musical pursuits, I played in the Hawkeye Marching Band, the Symphony Band, the Chamber Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra, the Concert Band, and attended weekly private lessons. In addition to my academic pursuits in the School of Music, I participated in every opportunity that the Bachelor of Social Work program offers to its students. I participated in a homelessness immersion trip in Portland, worked directly with the untouchable caste in India, worked as a Student Social Worker for the Free Mental Health Clinic, and I am currently conducting an honors project with a social work professor. For my academic accomplishments, I accepted a nomination into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Alpha of Iowa honor society.
