Post-Racial Ideology and Implicit Racial Bias
I have conducted independent research during my time as an undergraduate through my Sociological Research Methods class, in which I assessed college students from the University of New Hampshire (UNH) and their attitudes and opinions toward people of color. I specifically looked at racial/ethnic identity and its influence on campus social climate. With almost 400 student respondents, my research examined participants' post-racial ideologies and the participant's racial/ethnic identity. The main purpose of this study was to determine if there was a correlation between racial identity and post-racial beliefs. My article, Post-Racial Ideology and Implicit Racial Bias, was published recently in Perspectives, the UNH Sociology Department's student-produced academic journal (2017).
