Ema Hedman

I am a freshman studying Finance at Miami University's Farmer School of Business. I lived my whole life in Honduras, and I am grateful and proud to be a recipient of Miami University's Presidential Fellow Scholarship which allows me to study in the United States. On campus, I am part of Miami University's Honors Program, the Woman in Finance organization, and a Volunteer Chair for the Ox-Wee Charity Club; Through these organizations, I am able to enhance my academic experiences, learn about the professional world of finance and expand my networking skills, and continue to exercise my passion for charity. I have experience working with Excel from my internship at the Human Resources Department for Altia Business Park and am taking CSE 148, where I learn business-oriented excel skills. As a founder of my own cookie business, the Batch Bakery, I learned important business processes and organizational techniques that led me to a successful profit and the ability to deliver over 1,000 meals to those in need. Through my studies and information from organizations, I have developed an interest in working with data programs to make meaningful conclusions and hope to further explore the field of financial advisory. Lastly, I am open to learning about all areas of business such as venture capital, among others, which I hope to do through my courses and potential internships.
