I am currently a Cinema and Communications major with an emphasis in media and journalism sophomore attending the University of Hartford. I'm looking for an internship in the Connecticut area at a broadcast industry to improve my TV production skills. Though TV production is one of my main fields of interest, I have also gained in depth knowledge of writing through my rhetoric in writing courses as well as my writing for the media class. With the knowledge gained from these two classes under my belt I've greatly improved my writing skills. As a photographer of the Student Television Network on my campus I have gained a lot of knowledge for the basis of TV Production. Each week we use the school's TV studio to provide the campus with a newscast about what's going on at the University. I'm assigned a package to shoot and edit each week. Each package gathers new challenges making every day a learning experience. Gradually, I have become more comfortable with editing softwares such as Premier Pro and Avid through real practice instead of through my TV production and filmmaking courses. Joining the student run organization has been a worth while experience that has given me a glimpse of the inner workings of TV production and I am eager to learn more.

Newscast Director at The Student Television Network (STN2)

As the recently elected Newscast Director of STN2 I am responsible for directing a 30-minute live newscast each week, working with the Producer to complete their vision and put it on-air, and maintaining the consistent look and continuity of the show from week to week, including lighting, graphics, music, and set. As Newscast Director I am also responsible for maintaining the production schedule for the day of the show as well as assigning crew positions for the weekly newscast.

Walker Loden is a small gift shop located in Madison, New Haven, and Essex Connecticut. Working there is a life long learning experience all in itself. From learning how to communicate with customers, trying to fit someones needs, complete out of the ordinary tasks, and also providing follow through small town customer service, the skills I gained from the job are helping me everyday in my life. After working at this door I can say with confidence that I have become more professional and have greatly improved my communication skills.
