Emilie Luscomb

Emilie Luscomb is a 5th-grade science and social studies teacher passionate about avian biology and conservation. While completing her Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, she began a Master of Arts in Biology through Miami University, which was fueled by an inspiring internship at the Avian Conservation Center in Awendaw, South Carolina. There, she worked with birds of prey and shorebirds, sparking a profound interest in bird conservation. Her journey continued with a role at White Oak Conservation in Yulee, Florida, where she gained valuable experience working with endangered animals like rhinos, antelopes, and birds to help ensure their survival and support global conservation efforts. Today, Emilie blends her expertise with hands-on conservation work, inspiring students to engage with environmental stewardship while actively contributing to local conservation initiatives. Emilie is also career-switching, with a clear goal to focus on avian biology and conservation.
