Development Intern at Georgia State University Athletics
Working within the development department of a Division 1 FBS program, I provide support services to the staff working primarily with the Panther Athletic Club. The mission is to invite the alumni and friends to meaningfully connect with Georgia State Athletics in building a championship-caliber Division I (FBS) Athletics Program that will unite our University with pride.
In the fulfillment of our mission, we strive to clearly demonstrate our plans for Georgia State Athletics and the opportunities to participate through involvement, support, and investment that enrich our Student-Athletes’ lives, our Athletics Program, University, Atlanta, and Georgia.
A strong Georgia State Athletics Program will elevate the overall recognition of Georgia State University.
Projects that I have worked include:
>Corresponding with various organizations and golf courses, prospecting gifts-in-kind while helping to organize the first annual Georgia State University vs. Georgia Southern University Rivalry Golf Tournament
>Researching various locations using Alumni demographics to prospect for the first ever Georgia State Athletics Spring Caravan, where coaches and administrators will be traveling the metro Atlanta area to connect with alumni in the community.
>Editing and composing news letters meant for current Panther Athletic Club Members
>Organizing a resume workshop for the professional development of student athletes in collaboration with the department of student-athlete development.
>Corresponding with various local chambers of commerce and media outlets prospecting gifts-in-kind.
>Participating in the Year End Giving Campaign of 2014, that lead to $240,000 in total donations defraying the costs of 7.6 student-athlete scholarships benefiting 14 varsity sports.
