I conduct research under animal science professors. My current project involves analyzing the genome of white-tailed deer in comparison with various domestic animal species. There is a focus on IGF-1 and growth hormone.
I mentor a group of incoming freshmen and help them in all aspects of transitioning to college. I also assist in teaching a course that discusses ways to be a successful college student. Some of my other duties included giving advice, tutoring, organizing events, and making connections with my students.
I was a counselor for girls ages 7-17 at an overnight Christian horseback riding camp. I also instructed beginner and intermediate horseback riding lessons and led trail rides. I helped organize activities, games, and lessons for the campers.
My duties included the following: milking, feeding calves, sanitation, handling cattle, and giving injections.
