Ethan Patterson

Ethan Patterson is an accomplished software engineering major at RIT on the Dean's List at the Rochester Institute of Technology and is currently in search of a software engineering related co-op/internship. He is currently enrolled in RIT's Accelerated Bachelor's/Master's Degree Program and is a 2022 graduate of Orchard Park High School where he graduated with Honors and earned the Seal of Mastery in both Math and Science as well as the Seal of Biliteracy in French. In addition to pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Ethan is also an active part of RIT's Philharmonic Orchestra, Concert Band and Game Symphony Orchestra and is a recipient of RIT's Presidential Scholarship Award. Ethan has several years of volunteerism and extra-curricular activities and is an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. Throughout high school, he volunteered not only with the Boy Scouts, but Mission Ignite, a nonprofit organization that serves the community by providing technologies at nominal cost. He also participated several times in the Buffalo Mini-Maker Faire featuring numerous robotics inventions and he volunteered with the Western New York STEM "Hand in Hand" program, serving as a Project Team Leader working with other students using 3D printers to design and fabricate prosthetic hands for children. Most recently, he has volunteered his time participating in the Erie County Fair Band and with the Orchard Park Community Band. Before college, Ethan was on the honor roll throughout high school where he also participated in and was the Section Leader for Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Pit Orchestra, Jazz Band, was Vice President of STEM Club and served as a DARE Role Model. Ethan was also a member of the National Honor Society and French Honor Society. He has been recognized with the President's Award from Orchard Park High School, the AP History Scholar Award, and the AP Scholar with Distinction Award. He has received the Scholastic Achievement Award numerous times in addition to participating in NYSSMA , the Erie County Music Educators Association, ECMEA All County Jazz Ensemble, and the Buffalo State College Honors Band. Ethan hopes to be able to help people through technology and be able to use technology as a tool for benefitting those in need.
