Fatima Santillan is a first-generation Latina born and raised in Gainesville, Georgia. After graduating, she will obtain a joint Master's degree in Public Policy and JD. She intends to become a telecommunications attorney, while working in immigration policy reformation within underprivileged cities. Fatima plans to advocate for the Latinx community as an elected official in local, state, and eventually federal government. Fatima currently interns at an immigration law firm and is the Latino Student Association President on the Gainesville campus. Fatima is a PPIA JSI UC-Berkeley alumni, CHCI Congressional Intern alumni, and a Galeo Institute for Leadership alumni. She currently is serving as an ambassador for Harvard University's Latina Empowerment and Development conference with the intention of amplifying Latina voices in the south.
