The Vice president of operations (VPO) is an experienced operations executive who reports directly to the company's president/CEO with day-to-day operations. This position serves as a member of the executive team in the development and implementation regarding a variety of strategies to maximize profits while maintaining an acceptable level of quality, as well as direct and develop departmental heads in customer processing, customer care (call center, order management and fulfillment), performance measurements, information technology (operations systems, new technologies) to positively impact variables such as cost, quality and delivery time.
The Vice President of Operations acts as management liaison between executive staff and directorlevel department heads while providing oversight and guidance on policy matters, general operational realms, strategic goals and objectives as well as follow up on projects assigned to staff and keeping up to date on the company's research and developmental efforts. The VPO is required to provide timely feedback and guidance as well as maintain continuous lines of communication for both subordinates and to fellow executives on operations-related issues.
