I am an editor for Poetry City, a Twin Cities based journal of poetry and prose on poetry. My responsibilities as an editor include finding and contacting poets to submit to the journal, reading, ranking, and discussing all of the poetry submissions we receive, writing prose pieces for the journal, contributing to the layout of the journal manuscript, and participating in staff meetings with the rest of the editors where we discuss a variety of topics depending on where we are in the current publication cycle.

Peer Tutor at Normandale Community College Writing Center

I worked as a Peer Writing Tutor in the Writing Center at Normandale Community College. I tutored students on writing assignments and general writing-related things such as grammar, mechanics, and punctuation, writing skills and methods, brainstorming, outlining, formatting, revising, proofreading, etc.

I enjoyed this position very much and was very inspired by the hard-working students I tutored.
