UIL Computer Applications
This was an academic competition that was about creating and manipulating business documents in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. I competed all three years I was a part of it, and the team was brand new when I started. I made it to state all three years, despite the fact that we were disadvantaged by not having a course that taught these skills and had to the learning on our own. I became team captain and was responsible for creating lessons to teach new members, filling out requests for different materials, and scheduling our meetings.

DECA
DECA is an internationally recognized club that is about preparing emerging entrepreneurs for the real world. I competed all four years of high school (At District four times, State twice, and Internationals once) Running alongside other clubs and elementary schools, we hosted a one-night Halloween Festival available to everyone in the community to come eat food, manage games, and arrange for enough volunteers. I took over running the event in 2018. The Business Bees (October 2019) was a business fair targeted towards fourth and fifth-grade students. This was the first year Little Elm attempted something this large and was of my own creation. We taught the five main areas of business: entrepreneurship, finance, hospitality, management, and marketing. As project manager, I was responsible for organizing almost the entire event, which involved finding speakers, talking with the principals at the elementary school, coordinating with the CTE director, making activities, explaining what is required of volunteers, ordering pizza, ensuring we had enough transportation, etc. I had one other person to assist me and she was responsible for handling the student volunteers.

Business Bees
The Business Bees was a business fair designed for teaching fourth and fifth graders the five main areas of business: Entrepreneurship, Finance, Hospitality, Management, and Marketing. I created this project for a DECA competition and had to communicate with a lot of different faculty members to pull it off. I later brought in a partner who took over human resources while I remained general operations. The fair was huge: we taught about 120 fourth and fifth-graders and had 60 volunteers. The fair was a huge success with roughly 85% of students learning something new, and 50% of them considering a career in business.
