Grace Yocum

Grace Catherine Yocum was homeschooled and is now attending West Kentucky Community and Technical College to pursue her artistic career.  She has been commissioned to paint several portraits and some album artwork and has also participated in several performance poetry events including Valentine’s Day at Murray State University and Earth day in Carson Park, Paducah KY. She has been a volunteer for church events for kids such as VBS and Fall Festival celebrations. Since a young age Grace has been intrigued by any kind of creation (drawing, sculpture, creative writing, etcetera). She has participated in two of the annual NanoWrimo challenges to write 50,000 words in a month, and both times succeeded. She also is a part of a writing group called “River City Poetry” who meets every week at 8:30 and performs every Friday night in a local coffee shop. Recently, Grace has had the opportunity to study abroad in Italy and was exposed to a vast array of ancient as well as modern art and culture. Her hobbies include (besides the obvious art and writing): reading, ballroom dancing, camping, swimming and horseback riding.
