Ian Houston

I am a practitioner of social development & family services. My career focus is school improvement through community empowerment and engagement. As a dedicated servant leader to diverse populations, I practice cultural appreciation daily as it pertains to the needs, goals, and differences of other people. Both my professional and academic background has led to a thorough understanding of emerging social movements, place-based learning strategies, and the utilization of new technologies and their community/commercial applications for the purpose of mapping, marketing, education, and impact. I serve low-income populations, single parents, parenting youth, children, young adults, seniors, men and women in recovery, convicted felons, English as a second language learners, T Visa status immigrants, U Visa status immigrants, numerous racial and ethnic minorities, and LGBTQIA populations.
