Irene Monticelli

I am currently an independent health advocate and cancer care patient navigator volunteer. I am driven to communicate well and establish strong rapport with all patients. I am highly familiar with diagnosis and treatment of multiple ontological psychosocial health navigation patient concerns. I belong to the Association of Oncology Social Work (AOSW) and recently completed specialized training in hospice care for the dying under Dr. Lincoln director of hospice at Tucson Medical Center. Intern experience includes long and short-term care, client navigation, specializing in situational assessments, support, education, resource referrals, and effective medication control. I am a compassionate, active listener dedicated to working tirelessly with clients to help them resolve health issues and thrive on their own terms when faced with illness terminal or otherwise. I seek to provide effective care for my client while simultaneously continuing both personal and professional development at ASU. My belief is in survivor peer counseling, as a cancer survivor at 25 in 2007 and past hospice caretaker. I am talented at assessing and setting patient goals and in structuring treatment plans around a patients needs. I am passionate about oncology and the hospice movement and am committed to providing the highest level of care to oncology patients.
