No One Is Too Broke to Give to Those In Need at Charity Work
I made this page based on the fact that I am Haitian American, and while I live in the USA and am very privileged, my people are starving, do not have homes, and basically do not have anything. A couple of months ago, I came across a news article and a youtube video about how in Haiti, people are so poor, that they make cookies out of mud and eat them. While watching the video, I realized that it was released in 2009. It is now 2014 and things still aren't better. I have never been to Haiti, due to the extreme events that have happened such as the earthquakes and the extreme poverty; but being Haitian is something that I am very proud of. People never think that I am because they assume all Haitians are dark, and not educated and very poor. However, my people come in all shapes, colors & sizes. There are sooooo many of us in the states that are very educated and are doing well. But I feel that no matter how well I am doing, I cannot leave the people actually living in Haiti behind, especially because I have family there. I couldn't imagine eating mud and having nothing and I realized that I've had enough. Talking about how bad the situation is doesn't change it, but doing something can. I am asking you please, even if it's small, please give a donation to help. No matter how bad things are for you, others ALWAYS have it worse. http://www.gofundme.com/HelpingHaitiMyCountry
