Janie Shell
I'm a single mom of 3 children. I am currently a medical assistant at a local surgeon's office. I earned my Associates degree from Daymar in 2010. I was previously attending Mid-Continent but that chapter if my life has closed. I am passionate about my dream so I refuse to give up just because one door closed. God opened another door just in time to allow me to pursue my dream at WKCTC.
I hope to one day have an outreach program to assist children who are victims of abusers and drug addicts. I want them to know they are not alone and they do not have to be "victims", they are survivors. I want to be able to provide a "safe haven" for these children, even if it's only for 30 minutes a week or 3 hours every day. In my opinion there just isn't enough resources for these children. I hope to be able to change that. I don't want another child to ever feel alone, guilty, or helpless. God carried me through my darkest, lonliest moments for a reason and I feel that it was to help other children.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
