Jaquala Blount

The accomplishments that I am the most proud of are included in the three areas: Residential Curriculum, Community Building and RA responsibilities. With the Residential curriculum, I have gone over and beyond with care-conversations with the freshman residents. I made it my duty to follow up with my residents, volunteer to walk with them to on-campus resources for help they needed, I have helped a resident with a paper, looked over their work and have brought and offered one of my tutors to assist the residents. In Community building I have participated in many events and have extended myself not only to my residents but other residents from other floors as well. I have invited many residents to my floor to get to know other residents in their building. I have also met and reached out to residents in other freshmen dorms. As a part of my RA responsibilities, I excelled at working at the front desk. I have taken the initiative to train other Resident Assistant and Student Assistants about desk duties due to my previous experience as being a SA. I made sure that they knew the protocol . I was always willing to lend a hand if needed. Overall, my position as a Residential Assistant has been nothing but phenomenal and I hope to inspire and be that model for more incoming freshman!
