Jemima Tanzey

I am from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and I moved to America to get an education. While away from home, I have acquired knowledge that I hope to apply in my career. I am full of goals and dreams and have a passion for helping people and improving the population's overall health. Thanks to God, my life is a journey that I enjoy since I positively impact people's lives. I believe that in life, one of the most important qualities that someone can have is determination, which is one of the best gifts that life gave me. When I moved to the United States in June 2014, I did not know how to speak English. It is funny, but I only knew how to count up to 5 and say a few greetings such as hello and good morning. In 2022, I can write and speak English, and I even graduated from high school two years after moving here. I believe that determination is an essential weapon in this life journey that we are all in. I am passionate about helping people, which is one of the reasons why I studied Public Health. I cannot wait to see how I will bring a change in the world, especially in the health care system. I am currently at Emory Rollins School of Public Health, where I'm getting an MPH in Healthcare management. Although my long-term goal is to be a dentist, I want to go into healthcare consulting to healthcare administration after getting my Master's degree. My expecting graduation is May 2023.
