Delirium Screening in the ICU: Evidence Based Practice Project
Implemented CAM-ICU in all ICUs of local hospital. Educated nurses and staff on delirium: risk factors, signs and symptoms, prevention, treatment and implications to long term outcomes. Trained nurses in CAM-ICU screening didactic and hands on learning. Imbedded the project in on boarding new nurses hired in ICUs. Measured outcomes to sustain changes such as medications used, screenings preformed, Length of Stay and cost of care.
