Majored in Environmental Engineering
Georgia Institute of Technology, Class of 2016
From Wuhan, China
Jiaojun Liu is a master student in Environmental Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. Before then, she obtained her B.S. degree in Environmental Science in 2010 from Wuhan University of Technology, China. She has been involved in various research groups. In 2014, she conducted research on Environmental Material under Dr. Jiabin Zhous guide at Wuhan University of Technology. The research aimed at synthesis of a nano Material LDHs and applying this material into wastewater treatment processes to sorb pollutant p-Nitrophenol from aqueous phase. This research is of great importance in terms of human health. In 2015, she began a new research on Bio-oil with Dr. Sotira Yiacoumi at Georgia Institute of Technology. This research is focused on bio-oil separation to upgrade bio-oil and generate H2 from the upgraded bio-oil, H2 generated can be used as a clean fuel. This research is of significant impact, since we are now facing the shortage of fossil fuel, bio-oil as a renewable source can provide a new solution to our energy problem. Besides all these researches, she also enjoy build mathematic model for various problems and her math group is the meritorious winner in the Mathematical Contest in Modeling in 2013.
