From Ceres, CA
Hello, my name is Jorge and I am from Ceres, a small town in California at the heart of the Central Valley. I have been raised here all my life, surrounded by the rural landscape, spending most of my time outdoors fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, and playing sports. As you can tell by now I love being active in several ways and most importantly I love doing it in connection with the outdoors. I share the passion of being outdoors with my close family members, who taught me to appreciate the small things in life. I also have a passion for overall health, and specifically the health of functional movement. I currently work in a physical therapy clinic as a Physical Therapy Aide, where I assist the Physical Therapist in rehabilitation of patients that are pre- and post-surgery. Working here has allowed my love of rehab and exercise grow exponentially, which is why I have chosen to pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I want to make an impact on the community that I was raised in, by teaching the importance of exercise and healthy movement to reduce the rates of inactivity and reduce the chances of injury.
I plan on applying to graduate schools this upcoming fall to hopefully begin my next endeavor, PT school, by the Fall of 2021
