Jonathan Pennella

Jonathan Pennella is a kennel and show assistant at Top of the Bay Pet Lodge. He has been working as an assistant since the age of 10. Over his many years in this position he has learned from arguably the best handler in the dog show world, Greg Strong. Being a willing student, he has taken what his mentor taught him and excelled in his field. Some awards he has received in dog shows include placing fourth at the Eukanuba National Dog Show in 2015. He also placed third at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in 2016. While showing many different breeds he was the number one junior handler of Bouvier des Flandres, Russell terriers, Welsh Springer Spaniels, and Tibetan Terriers. He was the first junior handler to ever make finals with a Bouvier Des Flandres at the Eukanuba National dog show, and was the first junior to ever place at both Eukanuba and Westminster with a Russell Terrier. Jonathan is a student at Seton Hall University studying economics in the Stillman School of Business. As a student he has made the dean list, and joined the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. He also is the president of a cru movement on his campus, and was asked to be on the street promotion team for Cru Winter Conference in Baltimore, Maryland. Jonathan also volunteers his time as a camp counselor at Inspire Sports Camps. As a counselor he enjoys the opportunity to teach young people about how to be better in their sport and important life lessons.
