Julie Meachen, Ph.D.

Professor, Anatomy at Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences
From West Des Moines, IA
I am a vertebrate paleontologist that studies fauna at the end of Ice Age (Pleistocene) and how they respond to environmental changes during this period in Earth's history. My focus is on Carnivorans and functional morphology, although I collaborate with other scientists (ancient DNA experts, isotope geochemists, paleobotanists) to get a complete view of Pleistocene ecosystems.
