Justin Ziegler

I am a junior going for my Bachelors in Accounting and Economics with the Class of 2021. In high school, I ran Cross Country and Track, was a member of Student Government, Future Business Leaders of America, Eagle Scout in the Boy Scout of America, and volunteer in the Harleysville Jaycees. While I currently attend Bloomsburg University, I originally went to Montgomery County Community Collge where I earned my Associates in Business Administration. While attending Montgomery County Community College, I was an assistant coach for Souderton Area High School's Cross Country and Track & Field Programs. I also worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor at the Souderton High School Pool. In my free time, I trained for the Philadelphia Marathon, Board Street Run, and Run for Red Marathon. My ultimate goal at Bloomsburg University is to go for a Masters in Accounting to earn a CPA(Certified Public Accountant) license. I decided to go the accounting route because I was originally going for an Actuarial Science major but found I would be as happy as I wanted to be. During this time, I took an accounting class to see if I would be interested in the field. I found it fascinating, so I decided to pursue a degree in accounting after that. As for economics, it was a field I was always interested in due to math and complex thinking involved to figure out how the economy works. As for why I choose Bloomsburg University, it came down to a few reasons. First, when I was visiting my friend in the fall of 2018 I remembered the feeling of being at my mountain house at Lycoming. It was somewhere I could call my home away from home. Above all else though, it came down to the Accounting program and university staff. Bloomsburg's program is one of the best in the state before the price is considered. The staff was the best with the other colleges I visited, with their kindness and the detailed information they provided me. My goals after graduating with the Class of 2021 are ambitious. As previously mentioned, I intend to stay for an extra year at Bloomsburg to earn a Master's in Accounting and a Certifed Public Accountant license. Afterward, I wish to work for a major accounting firm, large corporation, federal government or the Federal Reserve Bank. Few years after that, I intend to stay in the organization I have chosen, open my own business, or go back to school so I can teach in high school or college. If I have not earned a Ph'd at this point, I should be on the path to earning one. Finally, while I don't know when, I wish to obtain political office to help give to a back to my community, state, and country. The end goal here is hopefully a governorship, U.S. Senate seat, or a spot in the Oval Office. For now, I run for Bloomsburg University Men's Cross Country and Track & Field teams for Bloomsburg University. On the track, I specialize in long-distance events. In Phi Beta Lambda, I serve as the Pennsylvania State Treasurer. I'm also a member of Bloomsburg Phi Beta Lambda's chamber, Investment Group, and Junior Sectary in Community Government Association. At home, I became recently became a full member of the Harleysville Jaycees.
