Katherine Collins

I am 30 years old, and divorced with two children, ages 11 and 7. I am putting myself through college in order to provide a better life for my children and myself, as well as to make a difference in our world. Beyond that, my plans are to obtain my Associates Degree in University Studies from Volunteer State Community College, and then continue my education at Lipscomb University with a Bachelors' from the College of Law, Justice and Society, with an emphasis on Social Change. My career plan is to go into nonprofits/advocacy, and possibly lobbying, for childhood cancer research. This has been inspired by my eleven year old daughter, who is a two-time survivor of childhood cancer.
