I am a full time Public Health student with a minor in Global Health who actively seeks public health avenues and opportunities that will allow me to serve the community while gaining knowledge and experience. This semester I am interning full time in Atlanta at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) with the Violence Against Children Survey (VACS) team, while also working as a tutor in my community in McDonough. I am an active member of my community by serving in as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Newton County. I am proud to say I am the youngest CASA in Georgia as well. I also am an active member of Zeta Tau Alpha and have served various positions for the sorority, such as, Service Chair and Chaplain.

Work Experience

Violence Against Children Survey (VACS) Intern at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

I am currently Interning with CDC's Injury Prevention branch on the Violence Against Children Survey (VACS) team. The VACS project is a collaboration between the VACS team and Moldova and Mozambique to collect data on children (13-17 yrs. old) that have experienced sexual, physical, or emotional violence. My role in this project is to help design the workshops for these different populations. The workshops consist of ways the key people in the community can communicate the survey and facilitate discussions that come from the interview. Assisting CDC Epidemiologists in reviewing data, assisting in the development of publications outlining the results of the project. Uses written communication skills in assisting with publications of the data collected from boys physical, sexual, and emotional abuse in Uganda.
