Investigation of changes to oral bacterial strains over time through genetic analysis of Streptococcus mutans
Investigating the changes to the human strains over time in order to better inform the utility of Streptococcus mutans in the identification of an individual in forensic cases involving human bites. Short Arbitrary primed PCR of genomic DNA from these cultures allowed for a quick genotyping based on similarities and differences between amplicons and allowed for discrimination between individuals.
