Katherine Kurata

Majored in Political Science
Gettysburg College, Class of 2019
From Milford, CT
I like to solve problems. As a strategic thinker and a practical implementer, I have the innate ability to bring the competitive drive to any team. Moreover, my experience as a leader and team player, have proven my innate ability to push others and myself to achieve well-defined goals. From participating in an immersion project exploring the sources and possible solutions of social injustices prevailing in Little Rocks Central High School, to contributing innovative I.B. strategies for U.S. States and their businesses' broad and growing interests in China as an intern in Shanghai I not only have a demonstrated passion for approaching the daunting questions of tomorrow, but also for having the tenacity to solve them today. My intellectual curiosity also motivates me to be a lifelong learner, and has thus demonstrated to me the value of diversity and dedication to hard work. Previously a polished student in the art of classical ballet, I went from receiving training from institutions in New York and Russia, to now being a third year undergraduate student at Gettysburg College pursuing my B.A. in Political Science and International Affairs. While here, I have conducted research regarding how both the successful formation of strategic planning and the implementation of constructive policies in the infrastructure industry, can work in unison to catalyze the advancement of humans in a highly globalized world. My ambition is to pursue a career that allows me to contribute my legislative and business expertise on industrial products and regulations to visionaries and government organizations alike. With my refined skill set, values, and experiences, I want to aid in the development of an infrastructure or technology based industry that redefines the capacities to which we confine ourselves as humans, and to never stop trying to solve problems in a universe of infinite possibilities.
