I am a first generation Hawaiian and Latino to enter a masters program, on both sides of my family. It is in my blood to steward the land, this endeavor will only bring my purpose and people forward. As an island peoples, we have sustainably managed resources for generations. I've professionally worked in the field of conservation and resource management for 10 years. The main duties involved performing conservation outreach and interpretation, through environmental education, developing interpretive programs, and establishing meaningful volunteer projects that connect the local community, youth, and island visitors to conservation, and to garner a better appreciation and understanding for culturally significance places and fragile natural resources.
