Kourtnei Romig

I grew up in Indiana, and I always hated staying out of state for too long, so I knew I wanted a school in state. I chose DePauw for multiple different reasons. The big reason I chose DePauw was because I enjoyed the smallness and the fact that it looked very similar to home. I lived in a small town area that was a bit smaller, than Greencastle, so I felt at home when I arrived. I also chose DePauw because I liked the idea of going to a Liberal Arts college. I don't have to choose my major until the end of my Sophomore year, even though I know what I want to do. However, I have the ability, by being at DePauw, to change my mind by taking a variety of different classes to help me decide what I really want to do for the rest of my life. Some of my hobbies include a lot of different artistic and musical activities as well as pure simple laziness. I play four different instruments, (viola, guitar, ukulele, and piano) and I am planning on learning cello a little more. I am an artist. I have been drawing since I was able to pick up a crayon. I also write a lot, even though I have never been able to finish a story. I plan on changing that in the future. I want to write my own book as well as illustrate it. I am a photographer. I love taking pictures and editing them. To me, it photography is a way for people to share how they see the world, and I think that is pretty cool. I love walking around, listening to music, watching Netflix, and taking drives as well. I am a very shy person, but I am very cool and will not shut up once you get to know me. I am trying my best to break my shell and show the world who I really am. I think being in college is also gonna help boost my confidence, which is what I look forward to the most.
