Obstacle Detection Device for the Visually Impaired
The main objective of this project was to design a wearable device that aids the user in their daily lives in the most non-invasive way possible, comfortable to wear, and affordable to all. The device detects nearby objects and notifies the user through vibrations that indicate the object’s distance and location in parallel to the user's body. This project was split into two parts where Part 1 focused on research and brainstorming design ideas. Part 2 focused on improving the initial prototype and testing the durability of the product.

Time-lapse Photography Jig
A fashion illustrator who creates content for social media using time-lapses to showcase their process requested for a new jig to aid in their work. The client stated that it is difficult setting up videos, time-lapses, or photos of their process when working at their desk. They wanted something that has a range of adjustability, phone compatible, and does not interfere with their work. The main goal of this project was to design a hypothetical product rather than building a fully functioning prototype.

Rubber Band Toy Car
An inexpensive, fun elastic band vehicle that will travel as fast and far as possible was requested by a client. The client wanted it to be a kit that can be purchased with very little assembly required. Using reverse engineering, the product was designed based on a simple homemade straw car.

Humidity and Temperature Indicator Device
Humidity can be too low or too high during certain seasons which causes some problems. These include:
- Static electricity;
- Dry skin, lips, and hair;
- Scratchy throats and noses.
A device was designed to measure the percentage of humidity in its surrounding area. When the humidity is not within ideal humidity range for health and comfort, the device would notify the user using LED lights.

Global Warming Mountain Sculpture
Global warming is a serious issue that is affecting the poles and disrupting wildlife that are living in these habitats. Using modern art principles, a sculpture was to be designed that reflected one key aspect of global warming. This sculpture showcases the evolution of the emperor penguins’ habitat due to global warming in an artistic way.

Identity Box
The objective of this project was to select objects that represent the designer and build a container that “holds” their identity. Considering the relationship of the inside to the outside of the container, it should tell the viewer a story about how it represents the designer as a person.

Multi-Material Testing Research
As 3D printing technology becomes more advanced, current printers are limited to printing one material at a time. Having access to a printer that has the ability to print two materials simultaneously, the goal is to determine the qualities of the interface between two different print materials for its potential functionality in the large scale.
The original specimen design was thinly sliced for testing. This was not time efficient and a lot of material was wasted during this process. Based on my advisor’s initial draft of the new specimen design, I was assigned to refine the design for improved printing efficiency.
