Lauren Himan

I am a sophomore at the University of Iowa, majoring in Journalism and Mass Communications & Graphic Design. I do some freelance work for graphic design, photography, and web design. I am also currently a graphic design intern at the Iowa Writers' House based in Iowa City. I was the Creative Director at Ink Lit Mag, a student run literary magazine from January to May of 2016. I was chosen to be the new Creative Director of earthwords: the undergraduate literary review for the upcoming year(s). I also work at the Division for Interdisciplinary Programs at the University of Iowa as an office assistant. In my free time I like to read, write, make art, design, do DIY projects, listen to music, and be outside. I am also an advocate for women's rights and sexual violence education. I am a hard worker and extremely committed. I love communicating with others and working with other people. I do everything with the best of my ability, evaluate my work (then alter and improve it), and get it done in a timely manner. I yearn to meet new people and work to sharpen my skills in whatever ways I can.
