Lea Barrett

University of Iowa, Class of 2019
From Palatine, IL
Fourth year University of Iowa Biomedical Engineering student with a focus in biomechanics and medical device design. I have gained invaluable experience through my Iowa Medical Innovation Group design challenge, clinical lab research, clinical and design/quality internships, and numerous hands-on design projects. I am also an active member in Society of Women Engineers, Women in Science and Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering Student Society in which I help promote STEM and biomedical engineering to future Hawkeyes. I serve as a Project Lead the Way Liaison/Mentor to strengthen outreach of grades 6-12 students by providing advice on college prep courses and career paths for prospective engineering students.
