Logan Burrows

I am a scientist by nature, observing and trying to depict what makes the world work since before adolescence. That same curiosity piqued my interest in the fields of chemistry and physics once I reached high school. Since I couldn't decide which subject to major in, I decided to major in one and minor in the other! However, back in high school when I originally became interested in chemistry and physics, I couldn't ignore the signs that pointed to what I should do with the future knowledge I would gain: teach. In high school I became a teacher's assistant where I was given the opportunity by the teacher I was helping to teach a class. It felt natural and my cohorts said that they felt interested in what I was teaching them. I took that positive criticism with me into college where I became a tutor for a short period of time and learned how to express the concepts that were being taught in chemistry into easier-to-grasp models of other aspects of life. And that is why I am going to further my education past a B.S. in Chemistry to also get a M.A. in Education -- so that I can help influence the young minds of tomorrow that these types of sciences do intermingle with everyday aspects of their lives and to hopefully help pique the interest of the next young James Maxwell in these beautiful sciences! I hope to continue my education in the sciences in the future to become a professor of a university.
