Leah Switalski

Majored in Business Management
John Carroll University, Class of 2017
From North Royalton, OH
I am a Student Athlete at John Carroll University pursuing a management degree with a leadership track. My most recent experience at Target as an Executive Intern has given me hands on and real world experience in every aspect of the business. I specifically worked in the Logistics Department and lead a team of 50+ team members. I oversaw the truck unload and backroom processes each morning to ensure high productivity each day. This opportunity gave me the ability to step out of my comfort zone, take risks, and take on new assignments. I was also able to form meaningful relationships, provide new ideas, and develop solutions to benefit the store. Target has given me the chance to run my own department and make high level management decisions. I am also a part of the Women's Varsity Volleyball team at John Carroll university. I have earned All-Conference Honorable Mention freshman year and All-Conference 2nd Team my Sophomore, Junior, and Senior year. Playing volleyball has taught me a lot about leadership, commitment, teamwork, determination, and the ability to accomplish a goal. These qualities have transferred into my professional life as I continue to see myself grow. I am known to be hard working and creative individual looking to further my experience in a management type position.
