Research Assistant at Lehigh University

I work about 20 hours a week in my advisor's research lab. My duties include reading papers, giving presentations, and working on research projects. Currently, I am working on semantic concurrency control mechanisms. The lab is a very cooperative environment, and I will often help my fellow researchers by critiquing their drafts or code. Most weeks, we have a "reading class," where each student is assigned a paper to present. This provides presentation practice and a good opportunity for the group to meet up and discuss our research.

January 2019 - Present
Peer Tutor at Lehigh University

I met with students in 1-on-1 tutoring sessions for computer science. I would review code, offer advice, and help debug. I also answered questions and clarified concepts that students struggled to understand in lecture. My personal philosophy is that intuitive understanding is more important than simple memorization, and I tried to apply this in my teaching whenever possible.

Senior Project
My team of 4 students developed an Android app that provides an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) at a low cost to the consumer. We implemented lane tracking, traffic sign recognition, and forward collision warning that runs on Google Pixel 2. My specific job was implementing the Android app, including the interface, camera feed, and parallel framework for the computer vision. I also took my teammates' computer vision code and adapted it to run on Android, then integrated it with the rest of the app.
