Lydia Nichols
Im a Communication major with an emphasis in Business at the University of Iowa. I recently made the Deans List, which Im really proud of it reflects how seriously I take my education, even while working full-time.
Outside of school, Im a General Merchandise Assistant Manager at Hy-Vee, where I manage displays, help lead a team, and keep things running smoothly in a busy retail environment. Working full-time while going to school has taught me a lot about time management, leadership, and how to stay organized under pressure.
My goal is to become a project manager, and Im excited to keep building the skills I need both in class and on the job to get there.

Iowa BIG
At Iowa BIG, I participated in a project-based learning program where I worked on real-world challenges in partnership with local businesses and community organizations. One of my proudest accomplishments was leading a team that raised $30,000 to support teen drivers getting hands-on experience on a professional race track. I helped manage the project from start to finishsetting goals, coordinating logistics, communicating with stakeholders, and presenting our results to the community.
This experience helped me build strong skills in project management, leadership, communication, and creative problem-solving, and its what first sparked my interest in pursuing project management as a career.
