Twenty-Second Annual College Show (Prize Winner)
I submitted my mixed media piece titled "Purgatory Chasm" for the ArtsWorcester college show. This piece depicts an interesting collision of rocks found on a hike through Purgatory Chasm State Reservation in MA. Using flasche washes, I loosely painted the background which would serve as the rock texture. Then, using charcoal pencils and sticks, I carved out the rocks. By focusing on the crevices, I gave the rocks volume and weight. Some buckthorn ink was also used to reference the vibrant moss covering some of the rocks. Additionally, I was chosen among 75 works by 57 artists. My piece was on display from February until April. I also was one of five selected prize winners of equal merit by the Juror Andrea Olmstead. This was an incredibly opportunity to display and be recognized for my hard work. Link to Winner List: https://api.neonemails.com/emails/content/mAaEIsKF2hX45nvwK-5SyfVAiIlpt6rDOPhdwUAAbsY=

Community Based Learning
At St. Mary's Nursing Home in Worcester, MA, I was able to interact with residents in their rooms, in activity center, or during meals. I assisted during games and sparked conversations. My main role was to socialize with residents, many of which suffered from memory loss. Through my volunteering, I provided empathetic conversation and got hear a lot of stories and perspectives from residents. I went once a week for two hours as part of my first year Montserrat experience.

Student Art Society
In the HC art club, I bond with fellow art students as well as those that simply enjoy the hobby. We enjoy weekly meetings where we have different themes and projects to work on. Some projects have included: felting, tote bag decoration, pumpkin decorating, and sketchbook nights. I collaborated with many students and hear about studio art opportunities for majors and minors on campus. The art club also has an application to display artwork you've made on campus.
