Ira Credle

Rev. Dr. Ira Ike O. Credle Ike was born and raised in historic New Bern (James City community), North Carolina with his mother, Mrs. Rebecca A. Credle and 4 brothers. In 1979, he enrolled in Elon College (now university) near Burlington, NC as a History major and participated in the Reserve Officer Training Corps. In 1983, he earned his Bachelors Degree and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army. He served as an Army Officer for 20 years in a variety of assignments that include: Commander, Battery C, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery, Operation Desert Shield/Storm, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Kuwait; Professor of Military Science and American Military History professor, Virginia State University; and culminating his career in the Office of G2 (Intelligence), Pentagon. Some of his awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, and Jump Master Certification. His military education includes being a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College. Upon his retirement from military service on 1 August 2003, he began serving as an Army Civilian performing duties as a Senior Training Specialist at the 1st Information Operations Command, Fort Belvoir, VA. His education as an Army civilian includes completing the Personnel Management for Executives course, the Executive Development: Leading Change course, and recently the Army Cyber Command Leadership Course at the UNC Kenan-Flagier Business School in Chapel Hill, NC. Doctor Credle retired from federal service on 30 April 2023. Ike has a masters degree in administration from Central Michigan University and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with emphasis in Christian ministry from Grand Canyon University. Dr. Credle is married to the former Sharron Vincent of Chicago, IL who is the CEO and founder of the Dr. Sharron D. Credle Corporation. Ike is the proud father of a 31-year-old daughter, Alyssa, who completed both her graduate and undergraduate degrees from Howard University. Alyssa is an educator in Fairfax County, VA. Dr. Credle is also the proud grandfather of three-year-old, Ryan. He is a life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc and has been recognized on numerous occasions for his work in the area of scholarship. He is also the former Chaplain of Lambda Gamma Gamma Chapter, Fort Meade, MD. Ike is highly active in his church, New Chapel Baptist Church (NCBC), Camp Springs, MD. He is the Co-Director of the Social Justice Ministry, member of the Men of Purpose (male chorus), active in the Marriage Ministry, and former Deacon and Co-director of the Mens Ministry. He accepted his calling to the ministry in 2008 and was issued a license to preach the gospel in November of 2011. Ike was ordained on December 14th, 2019. Rev. Dr. Credle believes his purpose is to bring glory to God and that the primary function of the church is to be Gods reflection on earth. Ira and Sharron reside in Upper Marlboro, MD near Joint Base Andrews, home of Air Force One.
