Although I value my time as a student deeply, I can't wait to be the one teaching, motivating, and discovering- the one in front of the chalk board. I aspire to be a chemistry professor because, upon disclosing that I am a chemistry major, the general public seems shocked that anyone actually enjoys that area of science. I hope to give students a good impression of chemistry early on so that, at the very least, they don't wince anytime someone mentions it. Before that, however, I hope to work on the biggest problem humanity has ever faced: the damage we have done to the environment. My final goal is to combine these two things so that I can ultimately be a research professor. To accomplish this, I've been taking classes at Miami University since I was a freshman in high school via a program called CCP. Through CCP, I was able to take actual college courses that challenged me and allowed me to connect with professors early on; I have always valued talking to educators, since learning about their experiences has inspired me to choose the path of becoming a researching professor- and yes, I was voted Teacher's Pet in high school and I'm very proud of that.
