Mary Jernette Galarion

Majoring in Liberal Studies, Minoring in Psychology And Chemistry
Purchase College, SUNY
From Yonkers, NY
I am currently pursuing a career in medicine. I started off as a receptionist in a doctors office 7 years ago. Completing my education was the last thing on my mind at that time. I attended a community college, however, there was lack of motivation and I realized I was just trying to please my mother. This lead to a low GPA. I had no idea what I wanted to do. I struggled as a young adult because I started a family as a teenager. I had a baby when I was 18 years old. As I gained a taste of what the medical field was like, I became intrigued. I admired the doctor who I work for. She specialized in Functional Medicine which is not so recognized in the field of medicine. Functional medicine is a hybrid between eastern and western medicine. Homeopath is practiced. I was blessed to be able to witness patients healed through natural medicine. Its amazing how our bodies are able to heal itself. A couple years later, my role changed from being a receptionist, to being the doctors clinical assistant. Since then, my passion for medicine continuously grew and as well as knowledge in functional medicine. I was 23 when I finally realized what my calling was. Currently, I am finishing up my bachelors and pre-requisites for medical school. My goal is to be able to provide quality care for people in need of overall wellness.

IV Therapy Technician at Scarsdale Integrative Medicine

Specializing in IV therapy administration with over 5 years experience. IV therapy has been used for decades in hospitals to treat a range of conditions, from dehydration to nutrient-absorption disorders, but it's increasingly offered at independent clinics and through house call-type services that pledge to help people feel better without clogging already-burdened emergency departments. And, while it may be most buzzed about as a hangover cure in party cities like Las Vegas, New Orleans and Los Angeles, IV therapy is also given to people with migraines, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, as well as those who want a nutritional, athletic, energy, beauty or immunity boost.
