Melanie Banks

I was determined to walk across the stage to receive my degree in my 30s. This is my second try at college after I left school in 2005 at the age of 23 when I was offered a job in the workforce that accepted my level of education at that time. In 2017, I wanted to invest in myself by increasing my human capitol, so I then respectfully resigned from my 14 year employer to complete my undergraduate degree. I stand today with 18 years of professional skills and knowledge in workforce development, non-profit, training & development, management, and youth development experience. I completed my degree with 3 children under the age of 10 and a supportive husband. It was a risk worth taking, and I have no regrets. I encourage others to believe in themselves and go back and finish what you may have dropped along the way. It is a passion of mine to work in an organization where I can take part in developing others to be their best self. Education has been the catalyst to my professional growth, achievement, and confidence of my skills and ability in the workplace. I am a lifelong learner who will continue to accept the challenges and new paths that is before me.
