Melissa Blackman

I am a third-year student studying Accounting with a concentration in Financial Analysis and a minor degree in Spanish at North Carolina State University. I am interested in tax accounting, and will be working as a tax intern at Johnson Lambert, LLP. throughout the Summer of 2015. After completing my undergraduate degree I hope to obtain a Masters degree in Accounting while simultaneously becoming a CPA. I have worked as a customer service professional at several restaurants throughout my undergraduate career, and have spent time volunteering in the Hispanic community in order to hone my foreign language skills. As a result I have developed a highly adaptable skill set. Specialties include: - Flexible multitasking skills - Ability to learn concepts quickly - Superior verbal and written communication skills - Strong leadership skills - Working proficiency in the Spanish language, including the ability to speak about special topics I feel that the combination of a financial degree with my language skills will not only broaden my ability to contribute at a company level, but also give me a unique perspective on financial management in a global enterprise. I am in the process of exploring further opportunities for leadership development, and have attended both the Johnson Lambert, LLP. and the General Hugh Shelton Leadership Forums since the Summer of 2014.
