Makayla Williams

I am a junior double majoring in Public Relations and Communication Studies looking to work in the corporate public relations field. I am currently a vice president of Diversity and Inclusion for UA's chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America, which is a position that I am passionate about because it allows me to make D&I a priority in public relations. I am also an assistant strategist for Capstone Agency, where I work with a client team for PRSA and PRSSA. I also work for Housing and Residential Communities (HRC) at the University of Alabama in two roles. Firstly, I am a second year resident advisor. This role allows me to interact with thousands of students and help them navigate their time at UA. Secondly, I am the social media and marketing student assistant. In this role, I curate social media content for @uahousing on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. I also edit and approve flyers using AP style and The University of Alabama branding standards. I have previous experience as a student coordinator for the Office of Parent & Family Programs, where I hired, trained and supervised 17 parent ambassadors during Parent and Family Orientation.
