Michael Barren

Michael A. Barren was born in Montgomery, Alabama. Ever since he was five, he has always had an affinity for two things: music and teaching. He has recently attained a B.A. in Music with Disciplinary Honors in Performance from Birmingham-Southern College in May 2020. Now, he is currently working towards achieving a Master of Music Performance from Youngstown State University. He has had an article published in the Southern Academic Review, was a Charles B. Vail College Fellow, has performed piano concertos with two different professional orchestras, and holds multiple awards in piano performance and composition. After attaining his masters degree, he hopes to attain a PhD in music theory and teach piano and music theory at a college or a university.
